Description
This specially developed swab kit is suitable for the transport and inactivation of clinical samples intended for analysis by NAAT (nucleic acid amplification test).
The medium contains guanidine thiocyanate, a potent nuclease inhibitor (RNase and DNase), as well as a protein denaturant that prevents microbial growth.
The special composition of the medium stabilizes the RNA and DNA of viruses (including SARS-CoV-2), bacteria, Chlamydia, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma over an extended period and is compatible with commercial nucleic acid extraction and amplification platforms.
Not intended for use with culture-based techniques or for antigen testing.
